carOver the weekend the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre was home to the Care Expo 2018. With the support of Australian Events the expo was the first of its kind for Queensland.

The event brought together professionals, clients and potential clients. People working in the health, support and care industries came together to give information and guide people through the different industries and show them what help and assistance is available.

For those requiring care and support in day to day living, the expo showcased a huge variety of exhibitors displaying services, products and providers in the aged care, mental health and disability sectors.

The expo was also host to a great range of motivational and educational speakers. Over the 2 days the event had a full timetable of speakers giving inspirational talks and advice to visitors and attendees. The 2018 event ambassador Major Glen Todhunter, started off the expo by gracing the stage on Friday morning to share his heroic and unique story. A story of courage and determination to overcome the hurdles of becoming an amputee and how to never give up and shoot for the stars. Other guests speakers shared information and aided in giving further education about the help that is available for aged care, disability and importantly the people that work in these industries.

The organisers worked tirelessly to put on such a fantastic event and have deemed it a huge success. Attendees and exhibitors alike have all had a great expo. With workshops taking place, educational talks and plenty of information on hand, the main experience of connecting people has been achieved. Well done Care Expo 2018.. can’t wait til next years.
